Panda Fest Indy: The Blueprint
Social Media Strategy Case Study
52,000+ views. Fewer than 10,000 followers. Zero paid ads.
A social media specialist, disguised as an event manager.
The Setup
Indianapolis welcomed 70,000+ people to the city's very first Panda Fest — the nation's biggest Asian street food festival. I was brought on by KUHN Event Management as an Event Manager, responsible for setup, day-of operations, and tear-down.
I wasn't hired to shoot content. But when you hand a social media specialist a lanyard and a front-row seat to a brand-new festival, she's going to bring a camera.
So I documented everything: the planning, the setup, the chaos, the payoff. No production budget, no paid promotion — just a phone, a plan, and a POV nobody else in the building had access to.
The result: 52,000+ organic views.
The Formula
Daily vlogs + event promotion.
The strategy broke down into two content tracks running side by side:
Track 1 — Ad-worthy promotion. Starting two weeks before the team was even on-site, I posted polished, promotional content designed to sell tickets and build anticipation.
Track 2 — Daily vlogs. Once boots hit the ground, I switched to raw, behind-the-scenes footage — site visit, setup, during the event, wrap-up, giving my audience a fly-on-the-wall seat at Indy's first Asian food festival.
The mix mattered. Polish sells the event. Rawness sells the experience — and it's the rawness that keeps people watching.
The Timeline
February 2026 — Daily vlog in Orlando. Used this trip to build the audience and seed Panda Fest hashtags ahead of the Indianapolis event.
April 2026 — Team-at-the-fest video + ticket push. Boots-on-the-ground promotion, filmed live in Indianapolis.
May 13–18 — Daily behind-the-scenes vlogs. Setup, during-event, and tear-down footage gave followers a first-hand look at festival life. Team members were tagged throughout to extend reach.
Post-event — Final thoughts, photo dump, full-week recap vlog. This is where trending audio and honest, unscripted commentary did the heaviest lifting.
The Proof
Across three platforms, with no ad spend:
TikTok 37,090
Instagram 11,586
Facebook 4,064
Top-performing content:
-
"Get Ready" — 13,500 views (pre-event hype post)
-
"Setup Day 1" — 8,899 views (behind-the-scenes)
-
"The Producer" — 7,986 views (candid, personality-driven moment)
The pattern is clear: anticipation content and authentic, unpolished moments outperformed anything overly produced.
What This Proves for Any Business
You don't need a big following to generate big numbers. You need a hook, a stat, and a moment worth documenting.
Here's how any brand or event can run the same playbook: instead of a standard product post, bring in a specialist — say, a personal stylist — to host a live, curated walkthrough. Let them pull looks in real time for a real client, narrating their choices as they go: why this piece, how to style it, what to pair it with. That's the shift — turning a routine transaction into an experience worth filming.
What I'd Do Differently Next Time
-
Vendor spotlights. With 100+ food and merchandise vendors on-site, I'd showcase favorites individually to extend the content well beyond my own footage.
-
Food and drink reviews. A built-in content series that writes itself at a food festival.
-
Deeper vlogs. More than a voiceover — real-time reactions from the whole team, plus daily recap check-ins at the end of each day.
-
More vendor video and photo coverage, full stop.

Love Island Blueprint: 3M views with <10k followers (personal account)
Overview
For this season of Love Island USA, I built and ran a six-week social content strategy across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. The goal was simple: turn a nightly, fast-moving reality show into daily content that felt timely, shareable, and worth following all season long. Below is a breakdown of the strategy, the results it drove, and what I'd build on for next season.
The Strategy: “The Formula”
The approach centered on two content pillars, each built around the show's own release schedule rather than a generic posting calendar.
1. Daily opinion recaps. Every day for six weeks (minus Wednesdays, the show's off night), I posted an opinion-style video with 13 real-time thoughts as text on screen. TikTok went up immediately after each episode aired, capturing viewers mid-reaction. The Meta version posted the next morning at 10:30am, timed to my highest-engagement window for personal content. This series drove 1.67 million views.
2. Meme-style reaction videos. After each day's First Look clip released across the app and social platforms at 3pm, I followed with a trendy, meme-style video across all platforms. This series generated 931.3k views.
What Worked
Opinions build community. I typically keep personal opinions out of my content and post meme-style or vlog content instead. Sharing real takes this season was a refreshing shift, and it opened up genuine conversation with the audience watching along in real time.
Memes drive shares. Love Island produces an endless supply of meme-able moments — a gift for anyone covering it. It was easy to pull one shareable moment from every episode, all season long.
